What kind of mother-daughter relationship do you have?
We’re a week away from the return of our favourite mother daughter duo, Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, to our screens and if you’re like us, you’ve been re-watching season 7 of Gilmore Girls to refresh your memory all over again.
To celebrate the release of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, Netflix did a survey all about Aussie mum/daughter bonding. As it turns out, TV really does play a part in bringing them closer together. (TBH we’re not too surprised, there’s nothing like those gossips after each episode of The Fall)
Of those surveyed, 1 in 4 mothers and daughters said their relationship strengthened with a mutual love for TV, and 55 per cent of those think comedy is the best to connect over.
So which Gilmore Girls mother-daughter duo do you think is most related to you? For Aussies, it seems pretty equal.
The survey found that 34 per cent say they’re BFFs just like Rory and Lorelai, 31 per cent say they’re more like Lane and Mrs Kim (complete opposites but want what’s best for each other), and 35 per cent have a complicated relationship like Lorelai and Emily Gilmore, but they can’t imagine their life without each other.
So if you fall in the latter camp, it may be time to reconnect with your mum with a Netflix binge. Now all you need is some Rory-and-Lorelai-approved snacks like pop tarts, popcorn and ice cream.
Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life is on Netflix on November 25
