Get ready to #MovewithHart
Have you been looking for a running partner who gives endless and energetic high-fives, believes in themselves (and you) and can crack a killer one-liner mid-run? Then you’re in luck because Kevin Hart is coming to Sydney and he’s going to be leading Nike’s Run Club through the Botanical Gardens on February 7.
Back in June last year, Hart was in Boston for his comedy tour, What Now? and felt like going for a run. Rather than going it alone, he tweeted an announcement, inviting Boston locals to meet him for a morning run. The spontaneous 5k dash attracted over 300 people. Nike realised Hart was onto something and since, the brand and the comedian have teamed up for a number of events for the Nike+Run Club.
Hart’s series of Nike Running and Training events, coined with the hashtag #MovewithHart, have brought over 15 000 people in 15 cities across the world together to get active and lucky for us, Sydney is next on the list.
The 5km run will set off from Hyde Park Barracks at 8:04am (to be precise) on Sunday, Feb 7. The event will mark the end of Nike’s showcase week for the new season of NRC. The week-long launch of the new season will feature the five (yes, five!) new sessions. For those familiar with NRC, you will know that last year there was only one type of session. Well, this year you’ll be spoilt for choice with a Home Run, Speed Run, H.I.T & Run, Long Run and Local Run to choose from.
What are they? Here’s the breakdown:
Home Run: NRC’s liveliest and most iconic session starts from Hyde Park Barracks every Monday night. Runners can choose a 5km or 10km group run at any pace. (Hyde Park Barracks, Mondays at 6:04pm)
Speed Run: Speed helps all runners, no matter what the pace, to get faster and stronger. Whether it’s at the track, park or roadway, this mix of speed and intensity will take your running to the next level. (E.S. Marks Athletics Field, Tuesdays at 7:04pm)
H.I.T & Run: You run some days. You train others. This workout brings the two together. We’ll mix high intensity training into your run to improve your overall endurance, speed, balance and mobility. (Parade Grounds at Centennial Park, Thursdays at 7:04am)
Long Run: This is the LSD run – We’ll cover a long, social, distance. You bring your social skills and we’ll bring the music, snacks and support you’ll need to go the extra kilometres. (Coogee Beach, Saturdays at 9.04am)
Local Run: Taking runners to see new sights, smells, sounds and tastes of their city through running, each session tackles new ground and tells a new story. (Locations and times are posted one week prior on https://www.nike.com/)
If you want to kick of your NRC season with a run alongside Kevin Hart, sign up now! Spots are limited and this is an event that won’t come around again in a hurry!
