Turmeric is so hot right now and there’s a good reason why. Research has shown that turmeric has memory-boosting, cancer fighting, immunity strengthening benefits and its consumption could even help us metabolise fat. If you thought the only way to get more of this spice in your day was to chow down on stews and curries then think again. The versatile spice can be used in many ways, here are a few of our faves to increase your daily dose.

Turmeric salt

Make yourself a turmeric sea salt to keep in the pantry. Mix five parts salt to one part turmeric and use this to season savoury meals to get your daily dose.

Sprinkle on greens

Warm up a fry pan to medium heat and melt a spoonful of coconut oil. Sauté a handful of kale with a cup of shredded cabbage until softened. Sprinkle with turmeric before serving.

With a cuppa

Brew a cup of chai tea with milk, honey and a teaspoon of turmeric.

Egg white scramble

Add a teaspoon of turmeric to whisked egg whites. Scramble in a hot pan with chopped tomatoes, roasted pumpkin and shredded spinach, season with salt and pepper and serve.
