Yes, you read that right – ferrero rocher granola. Granola that tastes like ferrero rocher. It exists, it’s healthy and you can make it at home courtesy of this easy-as (and healthy) recipe by nutritionist and author, Lola Berry. This yummy treat (which can double as an energy-dense brekkie or dessert) tastes like the real deal and is a source of the B vitamins needed to supports the body’s energy production.

Serves 6

1 ½ cups rolled oats
1 cup quinoa flakes
½ cup hazelnuts, activated if possible
½ cup shredded coconut
3 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp cacao powder
½ cup rice malt syrup
3 tbsp coconut oil, melted
Pinch of salt flakes

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.

2. Pop everything in a large bowl and mix together really well. Spoon the mixture into the prepared tray and press evenly over the base.

3. Bake for 45 minutes, or until nicely toasted, giving everything a little mix around halfway through cooking to make sure that it cooks evenly.

4. Allow to cool completely, then store in an airtight container or glass jar and enjoy all week long for brekkie (it’s great with almond milk and sliced banana) or as a snack or even dessert.
