Drinking wine before bed could help you lose weight
Yep, you read that headline right – and it’s backed by science. Maybe that saying ‘Summer bodies are made in winter’ was referring to this study? HALLELUJAH!
A study by Washington State University found that wine and weight loss are linked, thanks to a substance called resveratrol. This compound is found in red wine and converts ‘white fat’ into ‘beige fat’ (beige fat is easier to burn off).
In previous studies, that late-night vino has been heralded for curbing snacking, which then helped with weight loss. (Side note, the study tested bees not humans – but still.)
But don’t take this as an excuse to keep a bottle of red on your bedside table. Obvs, we all know that too much alcohol can have harmful effects on the body. Instead, try blueberries, grapes and strawberries as natural sources of resveratrol!
