Bec Tippett’s top 5 healthy cafes in Sydney
Need a new healthy Sydney hotspot that is equally delicious and Insta-worthy? Our reader ambassador Bec Tippett shared her five favourite cafes.
“I live in Sydney so I realise I’m spoilt for choice when it comes to finding cafes with the healthiest but most delicious meals. Considering food is a passion of mine and I’m always eating out whenever I get the chance, I’ve tried my fair share of places! However, if I had to cut it down to a top five, they would be…
Girdlers – Dee Why
If you happen to be over North for the day, do yourself a favour and check out this place. They have absolutely everything you can think of from healthy breakfast crepes, smoothies, natural frozen yoghurt and raw treats which are all made using organic ingredients. They cater for allergies (especially gluten-free options), have an amazing location overlooking Dee Why Beach and are genuinely interested in healthy living.
Egg of the Universe – Rozelle
This is Sydney’s only integrated yoga studio and wholefoods cafe… can it get much better? The menu proves that you can eat healthy but it can still be delicious. They have an outside courtyard too which creates a natural spiritual feel making the city seem far away. My meal of choice here is the seasonal breakfast.
Bondi Wholefoods (North Bondi and Surry Hills)
There's only one answer to tomorrows 38 deg heat…An ACAI BOWL from Bondi Wholefoods. Its totally yummy and will cool you down from the inside out! ❄❄❄❄😋😋😋 Our Acai Bowls are still The Original & The Best!! We use award winning Granola, biodynamic apple & pear juice & we load it pretty fresh fruit and loads of love…Yum!! Thanks @sophiefarla for the delish piccie 😙 Best way to start the day 😌 #acai #acaibowl #smoothie #smoothiebowl #summer #bondi #antioxidants #yum #yummy #foodporn #food
Wow! This menu is always updating but also keeping (my) favourite meals. Attached to the cafe is a shop which you can purchase all of your healthy groceries too. Whether you’re after the perfect acai bowl or a garden bowl, this menu will have something to satisfy (but in my eyes you cannot go past the Acai bowl!).
About Life – Various locations
The moment you realise it's Wednesday and tomorrow is your Friday 🥗 for all our Melbournian friends out there, make sure you try our Poké bowls that have landed in store (and still available in all Syd stores) – just in time for the weekend! If you don’t live near one of these stores, it’s worth visiting one. The dishes are locally, ethically and sustainably sourced and also allergy friendly. You can grocery shop while you order a meal from the cafe or you can take your own box home full of salads and meat selections from the buffet at a reasonable price.
Blackwood Pantry – Cronulla
Quinoa Falafel Bowl // roasted cauliflower, avocado, labneh, rocket, tomato chutney, poached egg. ° 📷 @rachelkara1 ° #blackwoodpantry #breakfastinsydney #brunch #cronulla #shire #goodfoodau #urbanlisted #broadsheetsydney #sydneyeats #foodporn #boutiquecafe #eggporn #sydneyfood #sydneycoffee #sydneybrunch #specialtycoffee #brunchinsydney #sydneyfoodie #foodie #craftbeer #younghenrys #restaurantaustralia #seeaustralia #visitnsw #timeoutsydney
If you happen to be down south of Sydney, I’d definitely give this place a try. Outstanding coffee and dishes and plenty of space to relax and enjoy yourself. I love the Quinoa Falafel Bowl!”
